Inaccurate evaluation of educational credentials

Although Josef Silny & Associates claims to provide credential evaluation services, a customer could experience substantial complications with the product they offer. The incompetency of these people is more dangerous than the lack of Customer Service of this business. I have had a terrible experience with this company.

When I ordered an educational credentials evaluation of my graduate diploma from Germany, they degraded a graduate degree to Bachelor of Science without even notifying me. I have had the same degree evaluated as a MS by another US agency years ago and never anticipated such an outcome. If the university I was applying at did not consider Josef Silny & Associates as an evaluator I would never have gone to them. Naturally, I disputed the evaluation and supplied an official note from the German University confirming the equivalency of my graduate diploma to MS degree according to German Law for Higher Education. Despite the presence of transcripts from two other countries and US all evaluating my diploma to MS, and despite the fact that the German University of Karlsruhe offered ONLY graduate programs, Josef Silny & Associates refused to re-evaluate the credentials. This is an unbelievable ignorance and the story went on when I had to explain to the Admission committee in the US university why there is such a discrepancy between my diploma and the credential evaluation from Josef Silny & Associates. Even the admissions director questioned the credibility of the evaluation done by Josef Silny & Associates.

Bottom line is, STAY AWAY from Josef Silny & Associates. With their incompetency these individuals can incur more damage to any client, not talking about their rip-off pricing policy.
