Ripoff Unauthorized billing of my credit card

I purchased Arts & Antiques magazine a year ago gave my charge only because the assured me they would not charge my account until they heard from me. They sent me a card a month ago, with instructions to either call or mail in my response as to whether or not I wanted to renew. I mailed it back 2/4/04 with a NO do not renew!

Today I look at my credit card statement and I have been charged for another year! Tomorrow I will call the number listed on the card.

This evening I called the number that shows on my credit card statement and got what sounded like one of those 1-900 numbers. This is the number that was on my credit card statement, 1-800973-2264 it is answered by a woman who says: "mmmmmm hi baby" at first I thought I called the wrong number but I called it again and got the same message. This is very strange and I wonder what this company does besides sell magazine subscriptions.

In any case, take heed, never give your charge account number to any company which gives them the authority to charge without your permission because they never do what they say. My husband has had trouble like this before with a company that sells vitamin supplements, so beware of giving your card # out.
