Kaplan University, online, Kaplan marketed the same idea of education with only one goal in mind thier pocket book

When I first began to look at schools and came across Kaplan really thought god was in my corner that day. I have been on total disablility for many years and my doctor advised me to start slow, I would be going into unchartered waters. Kapaln was offering me online classes and would allow me to take two per quarter. Criminal Justice was the program I chose (probation officer). What concerned me was getting in over my head and the fact that my disabilities are Bipolar 1, panic disorder etc. Would get in my way. I took this all to my recruiter not to worry about it. That was not be the truth, my disablities would disqualify me on a federal, state and local level.

Kaplan has taken an educational idea that used in the correct fashion can only enhance the learning experience. The recruiters picked out people whose only sin was to want to better themselves and to get ahead in life.in the process of promising a better life, a well paying job etc. Nothing was used to gague if these students were or are capable of performing at a college level and in the end can financially able to pay back the loans. What Kaplan did was to distort/twist the truth and to in the end make false promises to a targeted group of people and gave them exactly what they wanted to hear. (just like a used car salesman). To describle Kaplan Univsersity as a dipolma factory sad to say is the only fair description I can think of.

Now that Kaplan University has been being called to the carpet for thier deceptive practices, they are doing what many big business's have done hide behind the money. A fair anaology of attempting to take on Kaplan/Washington Post is David v. Goliath. I have caught myself reading other complaints about kaplan university in various consumer sites etc. What I have caught myself wondering is when is kaplan univsersity gets its legs chopped off and they be held accountable to the people they targeted and devistated thier lives?
