Alvarez is all about 1 thing and that is getting as much of your money as he can. Once he knows that you are on to his game, he is as unprofessional, rude and disrespectful as you can imagine. He runs a scheme where he allegedly teaches Italian at various restaurants, and shops around town. He is pleasant at first, but if tell him you are not interested in continuing with expensive, private lessons, he calls you stupid, unteachable and is even more rude than that! He even talks negatively to his "students" about the restaurants that host him (ie Mazzaros, Cafe Cibo, and Da Sesto's... All very good establishments). Stay away and learn Italian another way.
