LLC Scam artists collected my debt, never cleard my debt, resold the account / Williamsville

In April of National Capital Funding, LLC recieved a check by phone for $1584. They were collecting for a credit card that I maxed out and didn't make any payments on. I should have acted a lot more mature about making payments, I understand this. But when they contacted me about the situaion, they promised to clear my name and credit if the debt was paid in full.

They said the quickest and easiest way to clear the situation up was a check by phone, so thats what was done. Then in August of a new collection agency started coming after me for the same account, of course with interest fees added on, bringing the total to $2445.

I've since done many hours of research on the internet and come to find out that this company was only in existance from Nov to June. I have front and back copies of the check that was made out to them, and I even know what bank the money went through in Williamsville, NY.

Of course National Capital Funding, LLC didn't put the original credit card account numbers on the check, so the new collection agency coming after me "can't accept that as proof of payment". This is the only credit card I have ever had.

National Capital Funding, LLC took my money and ran, and the company no longer exists. They were, however, in business long enough to re sell my account to a legit collection company. I have proof it was paid, and will not under any circumstances pay for the same thing twice.
