Undisciplined Baby Shaking Incident. Employee Just Reassigned

I went to pick up my two children on Monday, December 15th. While passing by the nursery, where my 3 month old was, I stopped, looked in the little window of the door and saw my son in a baby swing. He was crying. Next thing I know, I see the young girl working in there, walk up to the him, grab the swing and shake it a quick and relatively violent manner as if to stun my son into stopping his crying. Then, she just walked away. She never saw me standing there as her back was turned from me.

I immediately went to the office and reported the incident. The decision made by the director of the Day Care was that "moving the girl to a different age group of children" was sufficient enough and all they were willing "to" do since it was my word against hers. The incident was also reported to DHS and their final decision was that the discipline she received (being moved to another age group) was sufficient and appropriate.

Meanwhile, today, Dec. 17th, my wife and I are forced to take a day off of work in search for a new day care center. We feel that we are under a "gag order", so to speak, as we are both afraid to report the incident at a higher level as it might hinder our chances of getting our children into another day care. We are shocked and angered by the mere fact that the incident occurred. But, to add insult to injury, the girl is being allowed to possibly do this type of thing to other children. I guess they feel that's alright if the child is 3 yrs old instead of 3 months old. The whole thing is disgusting and I hope that no parent is willing to place their child in a facility that would take the stance that Hope Worship Did.
