I had lost some fingertips in a workers compensation injury, in Feb. and they were very quick to hire an expensive nurse who changed my doctors appointment without my permission, showed up without invitation many times, and basically interfere with my medical treatment to "save them money".

After this they were pretty slow to get things paid the first time I tried to get reimbursed for items and other expenses. Then they tried to have the doctor classify me "permanent and stationary" and pay me only about $1200 for losing my fingers, probably a fraction of the amount they paid their "nurse"- she was nice however, not necessary by any means, and definately if GB is trying to save their customers money by doing this, they are fools.

I had some more issues with my finger so I requested another exam by another physician, called a QME panel. They referred me to another surgeon, who removed some fingernail remnant. I was out of work again for several weeks, and was told by Kim Allen, my GB adjuster at the time, I would be receiving $600 per week, and then a week later said I would be getting $490 instead of $600, then they only paid me about $400 per week. I had to spend many hours on the phone and with letters and faxes etc. To get them to reimburse me for mileage and other stuff even after that, then I finally got her manager to send me some more which they owed me.

This year, I had something else growing inside my finger, causing pain, puss, and other irritable conditions which the doctor again performed surgery on. Needless to say, it was a major hassle just to get my prescription, and to find out about payments, etc. Kevin Fiola, my new adjuster, needed more documents, then I got them to him, and he said he would be sending me over $500 per week ot the new address I gave him, after I explained to him I had a mortgage payment due very soon and it needed to go to the correct address.

Anyway, he sent only about $340 per week, to my old address, then I asked him why and he sent me an email back with a smiley face and the number for the workers comp in the area, which I called and they informed me he should have answered my question as well as included information in the letter with the payment the first time. We can see how they cut costs, they cut customers.
