Nextel's Collection Bait & Switch Tactic's

I'm a Nextel user with 4 phones for a year, a electronic debit to our checking account was rejected not once but twice... Our fault.

I immediately contacted Nextel who transferred me to thier collections department. I explained what had happened and offered a solution. While on the phone with Nextel they restricted our phones and aturned them all off. I called back and I offered to pay $1000.00 of the $1577.00 rejected payment today 9/15 and the balance by 9/15 talking to representative Mat who accepted my offer and naoted the account.

I imemdiatel took $1000.00 to Western Union as isntructed using Nextel's city & state codes to pay them. I returned to our office to call and only find out " NO GO " Nextel will not turn the phones back on until the entire rejected item is paid in full. I tried tlakign to a supervisor John who just brow beat me about writing bad checks and their there to protect Nextel... John stated that all bets were off, they weren't honoring the agreement pay the entire balance or the phone will be suspended... I called back and got some cooperation and was told that they would turn the service back on and give me 24 hours to pay the balance.

I really felt insecure about doing this with what had happened already. I called Nextell 9/16 in the am and had the assurance that if I paid the balance with the $15.00 reconnect fee I would be okay... I took $537.00 again to Western Union and called back Nextel and told them the Weastern Union MTCN numbers and they verified the payments...

Nextel Collections is noting more than a unscrupulous collection company... Tonight my phones are off again and when callaign their 24 hour customer support I'm told th eaccount is suspended!

If my accoaunt and be current I most likely would never have gotten to know my cellular company practices tactics like this...

Users beware, NEXTEL doesn't keep promises and will lie jsut to collect thier payments... I've been with Nextel for 1 year and with the 10's of thousands of dollars they've bulled us you would think they would want to keep our buissnes.:- (
