Community Reading Club Of Tennessee ripoff They won't close my account

I recieved a call from them and listen to what they had to say. They were very nice and I asked them when would my credit card be billed. They told me in late August after I had made my final decisions. A few minutes later I got a call back from them to verify this. The guy tried to push me to make a decision.

I told him that I wanted to wait to recieve the information in the mail from them. He told me over and over that if I wasn't satisfied with it I could always change this. The first two operators said the same. So I decided to wait for the information. They didn't give me a return telephone number at that time.

A couple of days later I discovered that they had charged my credit card for $49.90. I immediately called my cc company and they told me that they would get the phone number.

I called that company and told the lady what had happened and that I did not want anything from them and to cancel this order and/or account. She told me that they would not and that it would go into a collection account.

I called my credit company back and told them the information that I got from that company. They said if a matching charge did not come in 5 days they would take it of my card. If it did I would have to dispute the charge.

I called back to that company and asked to speak with a manager or supervisor. She was the one I had talked to the first time. I said to give me someone else and she said the was no one but her. Then she told me if the amount was too high they had another plan that was cheaper.

I said I did not want anything but to close this account. She said they wouldn't. I asked her was it there practice to lie to people to get our money and she said "YES IT IS". (her exact words). I persisted that they close the account until she asked me my last name and said they would. But I don't think that is going to happen.

I am going to try to find phone numbers for the magazines themselves and try to stop a subscription from being opened in my name.

What can I do to stop them from ruining my credit that I worked so hard to build?
