Broward county community college Made course materials mandatory, found out they were not, then refused to let me return the item

Before entering the nursing program at Broward, I was given a book list for my upcoming courses. We were told by the faculty that the lab kit ($120, ONLY available at the bookstore, and a receipt must be provided showing proof of the purchase @ said bookstore before being allowed to start clinicals) was MANDATORY. Soon into the program, we were informed the hospital would provide ALL materials for the lab setting, and the kit I purchased was COMPLETELY USELESS. I went back to the bookstore with the receipt and my unopened kit to be told the bookstore would not under any circumstance, give a refund. They suggested I try to sell my kit to someone else; and that is the limit of the help I received from them. Now out 120 for trying to be a responsible student and purchase the course materials on time.
