Big promises, few results

My wife and I just spent 24 hours at a three day seminar supposedly learning how to sell to the government. The cost was $4490.00. The initial meeting with the B2G Institute promised easy sales to the Federal Government as a reseller with profits ranging from five to 20%. The instructors suggested a one in four winning bid ratio or possibly one in three. Many success stories were related with resellers making thousands selling shirts, furniture etc.

We were bombarded with information, most of which didn't pertain to reselling. The presentation included a fancy slide show and we were given work books to take notes during the presentation. During the 24 hours, four and a half hours were actually devoted to reselling with the remainder addressing GSA contracts, RFQ's and other information we didn't need. There was also a sales pitch for additional training, assistance and software which ranged from $3995.00 to $30,000.00.

With great enthusiasm we poured through the information and the many web sites that had been provided. After registering at multiple web sites we began the bid process and bid on 30 or 40 items the government required. We conservatively expected to win 20% of the bids but found the competition to be fierce, something that had never been addressed at the seminar. We found bids being awarded with a profit of $100.00 on a $18,000.00 contract. That doesn't look like 5% to me. We haven't won a single bid.

Beware of the B2G Institute and remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. A search on the web shows 100's of people who feel scammed by B2G. We paid too much for too little and a class action lawsuit is probably the only way to recover. Others who feel scammed should reply.
