Stratford Career Institute
Office Assistant program will not meet standards for this country/will not be accepted

I recently was hospitalized and needed to update my skills for I would not be able to return to the work I was doing before, I reserached the program and it seemed to be the right choice for me after reading the info. After getting the material, which I have in my hand as I write does state it is accredited, which the school is not. I kept waiting for something I had not learned in high school to show up in the books. I needed to learn more about Microsoft Office and was told by "Jay", over the phone I would be trained in this area.

The software the school sends you is for Canada and not used in this country. Craig from the school stated you get what we send. I have a recording of the conversation. I took the program to our Community College and was told this course was terrible, out of date and would never be taught in such a format in this country. I was advised to report this business to the Dept of Education, they would also write in my behalf. This is a waste of time if you are needing to earn credits.

You can print your own diploma, it is probably more valuable. The Office Assitant program is useless to anyone who is looking for a career in an office. Unless you enjoy spending money on a course no state in this country will honor, stay as far away from this school. It is a money making scam for people who do not know where to check their facts. I was lucky to work partime for the Attorney Generals Office don't get involved. I am working to cite this school and stop the school from taking money from Americans and individuals that with all our hard times can not get loans for school.
