Ripoff rebate scam mistreated and ripped off outlandish ripoff late fees political corruption

I don't quite have the ongoing longterm story yet the others do, but I thought I would give an update on the current situation. I may end up having problems. I had my DirecTV installled in mid-December by a Prime TV contractor. Everything went fine. He told me about how exactly to get the $99.00 rebate. I followed his directions and sent the information to Prime TV in late December.

When I hadn't heard anything in about a month, I called back to get the status. I was told that I was approved for the rebate on December 30 and it was "in process". When I asked how long it took, I was told that it could be up to six to eight weeks.

When I asked why it took so long, the person on the other end of the phone said "The mail takes that long". When I told her that I lived only about 200 miles from Southern Pines, and that it would probably only take one day, or two at the most for the mail to get here, she then told me that eight weeks from Dec. 30 is Feb. 24 and that I would get the rebate before then.

So yesterday, (Feb. 10), I decided to call back. This time I was given a different story. The person on the other end told me that he didn't know why I hadn't gotten it yet, and that checks are cut on Fridays and he would note my account to have it cut this Friday, so I would get it early next week. He genuinally seemed like he had heard too many of these complaints and sounded like he felt bad about lying so often to customers.

I asked him if he could guarantee it would go out this week, and he said no, he couldn't. He told me to call back next week to check. So I asked to then talk to someone in accounting and he said he couldn't do that, but he would let me talk to his supervisor.

She gave me another story too. She would hear no argument whatsover... She looked up my account and told me I would have the check by Feb. 24th (8 weeks to the day), and not to call back before then. You can rest assured that if the check is not in my mailbox that day, I will send the complaint to the NC Attorney General's office. I will update this as necessary.
