Texas Tax Ripoff and Collecting Tactics

Just received a collection notice from American Credit Exchange out of Las Vegas that The College Network wants an additional 259.99 in Texas state taxes from me due to their mistake in determing the total cost of a $3000 package I purchased from them. Basically the state of Texas has come back to them looking for taxes they should have paid and The College Network is trying to come back to us for their mistake. We made the initial purchase on 07/02 and almost two years later they are trying to rip us off. We intend to research all legal avenues of recourse and would even like to return what we did agree to purchase and get our $3k back. We urge others to do the same and allow yourselves to be included in any class actions suits that become available. We also encourage everyone to send "cease and desist" letters to collection agencies and inform them they are not needed and are not allowed to update any credit reporting agencies.
