Education & Science

I attended a free workshop called Teach Me Foreclosure. At the end of the workshop, they offered a continuation of the workshop with a 3 day seminar for $199. The 3 day seminar was suppose to teach you how to become a real estate investor, find properties, write grants, etc. They claimed that they come to your city every other month. Therefore, it would be easy to attend your seminar plus you had 1 year from date of purchase to attend. Well... They did not state that the seminars are Friday, Saturday and Sunday all day (when most people work) and you had to attend all 3 days. I was told to call each month to be informed when the next workshop will take place. I did for a year. Each time I called, they were not coming to town. I eventually asked for a refund. I was told no because I missed the refund timeframe. As a result, I lost $199 and received no service. However, I have read several complaints about this program. It seems that when you actually make it to the 3 day workshop... They ask for more money. Unbelievable. I would like a refund of $199. How can a company get away with this?
