Beware of this school! If you transfer, you will not get financial aid release for another school!

I enrolled in Ashford University's online program in June per there advisors very enthusiastic response to my information on wanting to get into a program that would allow me to become a paralegal.in June of I called my student advisor and questioned my next class of "Intoductioin to Film" and how this would forward my career choice of paralegal. I was told there is no paralegal degree through Ashford. I immediately withdrew and finished class on June 26. Since then I have been forced to withdraw from three schools due to everytime I start class, the new school tries to access student loans on my behalf but Ashford has taken loans out until April. I assume they have caller id as I have been unable to reach anyone to deal with this. It has been 33 days since my last class there and they still are holding my entire financial package for this year. Today when I called, I tried a different extension but as soon as I said my name, I was hung up on!

I am now heading towards default on my previous academic years loans and there is nothing I can do because they have me tied up in loans to them until 2009. I called my lender and they have cancelled everything at their end. After I did this on the 26th of June, two weeks later the loan company sent me a letter that Ashford was requesting another loan on my behalf and they listed me as enrolled as a full time student!

Please don't let this school do to you what it did to me. I have no idea how they can do this legally. I have since filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau and the Iowa college student aid commission. Now, all I can do is wait and hope this gets staightened out in time for me to attend another college before my default period runs out.
