Rocky mountain collections, Sean Ohara ripoff business from hell

My mother, a disabled woman was SCAMMED by this company! As her daughter, I usually handle her financial buisness. She ordered the trial slim-patch for 20.00 and like most of you was sent the trial with 2 extra months about 4 weeks after ordering. When she recieved the package, and the bill for 199.00 we called Treehouse that day. After speaking with someone named Shea, we were informed that if we sent the extras back within 30 days we would only be charged for the original trial package.

A week later I sent the package back via US postal services.included was a letter informing them of the mistake, what we had done to correct it, and the instructions from Shea to remove any further charges from our bill.

Since then we have been recieving phone calls from SEAN OHARA supposedy from a company called Rocky Mountain collections (a division of treehouse). Not only does he claim no record of recieving the package we sent back, he is always very rude, cursing, and threatening. He also refused to let me speak with a supervisor, tell me what state the company is based out of or give me any other information on Treehouse or Rocky Mountain collections.

To add insult to injury he also informed me that he would be calling DAILY and HARRASSING my mother untill she authorized her credit card to accept the charges. He also told her that he would ruin her credit for seven years when she asked him if the phone calls about returning the product had been recorded. (this is when he started using abusive and offensive language).

After hearing the phone call from him today (12-12-02). I called him back and tried to professionally resolve this matter.in 20 minutes on the phone he successfully managed to escape giving me any information or letting me speak with a supervisor stating that "I will not give any information to you or your MOMMY while you are on the phone."

After hanging up I tried to search the BBB in Utah and national database for any information they have on either of these companies. Big Surprise when there was NO LISTING. Hmmmm. Then I found this link and BEHOLD there it is. I found it interesting that one of the rebuttals for Treehouse is signed SEAN. (spelling is correct per Mr. Ohara).

As someone whose career is in telephone sales I am APPALLED to be treated this way by any company. I know the rules and regulations about misleading customers, customer service and the FCC regulations. For those of you who have have been scammed by this company... CALL YOUR CREDIT COMPANY NOW! Tell them the charges are not authorized and dispute them. Untill this matter is resolved you will not be responsible and your credit card company will look into the company and the charges and legally take care of the matter.

For those of you who have been scammed by this company and would like to get info on participating in a mass lawsuit please post your rebuttals to this report as we have contacted lawyers and are getting the ball rolling so to speak.
