At 70yrs. Old you would think I'd know better? If, it is too good to be true, it is usually not true.!

I have ryhmed for a lot of years and love to write. I was so proud that my poems had been selected for publication in a lovely coffee table book. I had been published in newsletters, local papers... But; a "book?" I didn't really think about prizes. My poems in print in a book, that was the ultimate.
Actually, the ILP gave me what I had dreamed of, I ordered wallet cards for my friends and family. Then camre the convention and You had to pay to get your prize.
I write because I love to write, not for prizes... What ripoff?
