Paid for a magazine and they never delivered. No contact info other than P.O. Box

Two young individuals came to my door asking me to purchase a magazine. Any purchase and half the money would go to these young individual's educational pursuits. I wrote out one check and another before the said 10 days elapsed as per instructions on their magazine purchase receipt. After over 120 days no magazine.
