Misrepresenting the benefits of their high priced website packages Sandy Utah

Education & Science

In March of I and my partner attended the seminar put on by Duane Barney and ClickIncome.com. We were given lots of good information about how to approach eBay and giving away free websites for a mere investment of $5,995, or $3,995. The packages would be marked down, respectively for that day only, if you purchased on the spot from the regular prices of $10,995 and $5,795.

Funny that about a week later, I received a follow-up phone call, asking if I was still interested and why I had not purchased at the seminar. I was going on vacation so I told the person on the other line to call me about a week after I got back to discuss it further.

The call came last week. I arranged with the caller to set up a time when my partner and I could be on a conference call to discuss what the caller said would take 1 1/2 to 2 hours, for the one-on-one presentation. Yesterday the phone call took place. When we started talking about the commissions that were presented to us at the local seminar, we were told there was no such thing as the system we were told it would be.in fact, we were told even higher commissions, however; it would be tougher to receive those commissions. Here is what was presented to us at the seminar. (The lesson is as they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is).

We were told that once we purchased the package, we would have a website within a couple of days. We were told first, that we would be placed in the top 5 or 6 listings on the search engines right away. This was because of an agreement ClickIncome has with some company (can't remember their name), and the volume of business they give them. We were to use their software named, "Search Engine Magic", to accomplish this. We were told that others have to wait three to five months to even get listed on a search engine because of the backlog, and then it would be in last several listings may 10,000 listings down where no one will find them.

Anyway that was one of the misrepresentations, as the representative on the phone said, "no we don't guarantee that, we tell you that using "Search Engine Magic", will show you how to work your way to the top.

The other major misrepresentation was as follows. If we were to buy the package, we were to send emails to individuals who sale on eBay and ask them if they have a website. If they respond to your email, you are to set up your email to autorespond to them, telling them that they are missing out on increasing their sales by 20%. We were to have a link in our email, directing them to our website where we not only tell them how to get their free website, but have a chance of buying the products that we sell on the site, using the dropshippers provided by Click Income. We were told that for every free website subscriber, we would receive a $50 commission. If those same people purchased one of the plans that Click Income offers, then we would get another $600.in the phone call with their representative, we were told that there is no $50 commission, and only if the free website turned into a purchase of a plan, we would receive $900. If these people also purchased the eCommerce portion of the plan, then we would receive another $600. So as you can see, nothing is like it was presented.

When we told the representative on the phone, he said we must have mis-heard or misinterpreted what was said. I explained that I copied, on the note paper that they provided, exactly what was told to us and written on the overhead screen. He said he had spoken to everyone else who was at the Minneapolis seminar and no one else mentioned this, so we must be incorrect. I repeated that it was on the screen in writing as well as in words.

I asked for Duane Barney's cell phone number, since he offered to give it to anyone who bought that day at the seminar. We asked so we could get confirmed what he had told us. We asked if we could talk to him then. The representative on the phone said, no he is on the road all of the time, I can't get a hold of him. The rep asked if I would email him details of the information that we were presented and I had written down. He called me back later to say he took it to his boss and his boss called Duane Barney and asked him about it on the phone. Of course, Mr. Barney denied that he presented such information. The rep said he was going to check to see if my email had arrived yet and let me know. He called back about 10 minutes later to say he did, and that his boss wanted Mr. Barney to stop in his office the next morning to discuss this. Yeh, sure. First there was no way to get ahold of him, because he is on the road all of the time, but all of a sudden, he is going to be in their office the next morning to meet with the boss.

I am just so thankful that I did not bite on their "buy it now" sales pitch at the seminar to get the discount, or I probably would have parted ways with $5995 and have not much to show for it unless I got really lucky.

This company and/or its representatives are definitely misrepresenting their wares. They make it sound like making tons of money is quite easy as long as you buy their plan and give people information on getting a free website. It just ain't so.
