SCI Stamps.com
Fraudulent credit card charges

I discovered after opening a new credit card account with Bank of America I was being charged monthly ($15.99) by SCI Stamps.com, a firm with whom I had no business dealings. I read of the run-around the company gave another credit card holder when she attempted to trace the transactions so I skipped that step (it being a weekend; their office was not open anyway) and went direct to Bank of America who immediately took steps to erase the charges from my account. It's small peanuts to them so I doubt they will do any followup with SCI Stamps.com

I have an account with the U.S. Postal Service's on-line portal for buying stamps and other postage services. Their name is a play on that name and that's why I overlooked the charges for a couple months. Their message at the listed phone number identified them as "Stamps.com" and referred to their web site as "Stamps.com" never once using the SCI Stamps.com listed on the credit card statement. I have no idea what this company does other than running the scam I got caught in.
