Magazine subscriptions never arrive ripoff fraud business

A nice young college-aged girl came to our door with legitimate-looking materials selling magazine subscriptions to earn points in an awards program.
Ordered a few subscriptions, got a receipt and contact info for the subscription fulfillment company (though no phone number), and never received subscriptions.
Later found contact information for the subscription invalid. There went a week of lunch!
