I had nooo idea that this so called Kokay Management was a ripoff. I figured it out after all the run around. So like many others i just found. I saw an Ad in craigslist for a two bedroom apt. For $900/month. I contacted the ad and an Angela answered. She showed me ana apartment which i liked. I gave her two application fees for $125 each. 1 for myself and one for my roommate/cousin. She also told me to give her a deposit for the apt. So i gave her an extra $850. We gave all of our paperwork but she kept giving us a run around saying that our credit was not good enough and that we need it a co signer. After we could not find a co signer I told her to for get it and that I wanted my deposit back. This happened back in November and it is now March. I have yet to receive my deposit. She actually called me about 3 weeks ago and said they were having some legal issue (figures). She also gave me a different number and fax number. The second phone number she gave me is now disconnected. She told me to fax her copies of my deposit receipt but she claims she never received it. She showed me another apartment in Harlem 126th St. I noticed the name on the intercom said Jenkins. When i went back to that apartment nobody answered, but I did find out that there was a major waiting list for that apartment. Talk about a major scam. I Hope we can get together and do something about this. Im a recent college grad and could use my money to pay off student loans.
