Trying to collect on a debt that does not belong to me

Wow, these bastards have being doing this to A LOT of people! Fill you all in. I get a letter at my current address for someone that does not live here. Actually my mom's name. I no longer live at home. I opened it, I found it fishy. I started my online research... And voila! Freaking rip off artist. So I did not call them or anything. I do no have a land line, just an cell phone from work. They send a few other letters, same debt. Finally they stopped.

Today I receive the same letter but this time with my name on it. This is for a Capitol One CC debt. I have NEVER had a Capitol One card! I choose not to contact them, do not want to add wood to the fire, i know they are counting on people to call them to try to get something out of them. What i cant belive is that there is no class action lawsuit against them! There are SOOO many reports and they are all the same. Hopefully these bastards be taken out. I am in California, and never dealt with something like this. Any suggestions on what my next steps should be?
