A teenage boy appeared on my doorstep, with a tale about needing to get points to earn money for college and a trip to Cancun by selling magazine subscriptions. I picked out a magazine and wrote a check.
Being a suspicious type I postdated it, a good thing, since now that I've read the reports here, I'll cancel it and only be out $10 bucks instead of $40. Beware! They are now working the Long Island north shore area.
