They took money from my checking account

This company called me to verfy an application
for a credit card. They knew the last 4 didgits of my SS number so I assumed they were legit. But, I don't give out such info and now am in the negative at my bank.
I reported this to the bank when I got the phone
call and actually warned the bank that something was
going on. I am on SSI disability and have NO money now
for the rest of this month!
