Tuition Ripp-Off Scam

I found this web site a little to late as I to have been the scammed by New Horizons CLC. I to was fooled by the charm of a recruiter that contacted me after finding my e-mail on careerbuilders.com. My story seems to follow the same patterns I have read about while searching for info about NH CLC on the web.

I was contacted by a recruiter the middle of July and was asked if I would be interested in a job in the Internet Tech. Field. The recruiter led me to believe that if I enrolled in the "Cyber Security" course at NH CLC they would use their "inside contacts" to help find me an entry level job in the field of IT once I had two certifications (A and Net) under my belt. This seemed like a good opportunity and so I enrolled.

Once I started the course in A I soon figured out that the instruction was not what I bargained for. The class on A was set up for me to set in front of a Computer watching videos. I could not get over the fact that I was paying for a video as my instructor but I stayed in the class (mistake) and eventually passed my first certification in A. I voiced my concern on the instructional method and was told that the Net class was in a classroom taught by a live person and so I went to the first Net class. This class consisted of me and one other person and all that the instructor did was read from the Net book and so it was at this point I new I was not getting my moneys worth, so after that class I contacted my recruiter to drop from the course as I felt this was not my calling. The recruiter stated she would file the paperwork and send me a copy of the tuition refund calculations.

I eventually did received the calculations and was shocked to see that NH CLC was charging me 70% ($12,000) of the entire cost of the $16,999 security course. I felt that this was way to steep and the way I saw it, the entire course was 250 hours and I had attended 40 hours in the A class and another 8 hours in the Net to total 48 hours (about 19% of the course) and I should be charged for the time I spent in the classes.

I called the recruiter and she put me in contact with th V.P. And after telling him my situation he would not budge on the tuition charge. The V.P. Told me that it was nothing personal but it was a business decision and I should have read the contract before I enrolled.

The cold hard fact is that NH CLC has received the money I borrowed from Sallie Mae and are fat and happy knowing that Sallie Mae is the on that I have to pay back no them.

If anyone has any info on what I can do PLEASE help me out so I wont spend the next 10 years paying off the "Snake Oil" New Horizons CLC of Kansas City Missouri sold me. I am a sucker!!!
