Abusive Credit Card Company

When i first opened my acct with Washington Mutual (Providian) I kept my monly payments up paying them online all the time. I Lost my job the first week in may and was jobless from May to last part of July. My interest went from 11.99% up to 31% from missing one month of payments and having to pay less than my mim trying to play catch up with other creditors as well. Each time a rep from washington mutual would call they would tell me that i would not get a late fee chrg if i did a payment over the ph and they told me they could not send anything in writing through the mail honoring there over the ph deal

I have started back to work now since July 25th and i have been trying to catch up to my mim payment they want from me which since the over the limit fees. Late pymt fees have been accessed to my acct my mim is now up to over $600 that they want to get my acct current. The $150 pymts that i have been making has just been paying the interest paymt and they are not wanting to work out an arrangement to close my acct to stop the fees like 2 other of my creditors did to get my accts under control. They want to still tack those fees on and im not getting ahead with them making my monthly paymts only further behind with them.

I would like any sugestions on what to do. I do not have a the total of $600 to pay them since i have a bugdet $150 is all i can afford right now to pay them each month. I feel like all they want is the money and they dont care to help me as a customer
