Kaplan University
Did Not dispurse federal funds has not sent me diploma since graduation

I am a two year graduate of Kaplan University. That said, they still have not sent me a diploma or any indication of honors even though I graduated with a 3.9 average. Probably holding it due to the fact that I still owe the school money. I owe them money because they have neglected to disburse my federal loan money that was supposed to go to my last term and refused to pay them until they made it right. I found this out from someone that worked with a loan consolidation company who have access to all student lending if it involves federal funding.

I have been calling them since last Feb... Their financial aid department is a disaster. Now because I am not able to get back into school (due to oweing them money) i am out of a grace period and the loan company is coming after me for payments of which I am supposed to have ten years to pay. I thought going back to school and getting a degree at a late age would be a good thing but now I don't even feel like I went. The instructors except for one were great but I was enlightened to see that most hold down a job and go to school themselves so how much are dedicated to? I had one instructor tell me just before a category 4 hurricane hit that not having access to a computer was no excuse if my paper was due and we had no power. He said he would drive through a hurricane to get to a computer.

How dumb is that? That's when I started questioning my decision. I have checked out other universities (they are accredited, by the way) and even the out of state ones are cheaper to attend. I finally got a deferment last week from paying one loan company, Citibank, but they never notified Direct Loans. What a mess.
