Option One Mortgage
Rip offs! Comparable to loan sharks!

Where to start? The day we signed our mortgage they came to the closing with a different rate than the initial offer, 1 point higher for a grand total of 9.25%, either we signed or we didnt close, it was ARM and we were refinancing in 2 years anyhow, so we signed. Payment due date was the first of every month, with a 16 day grace period. We got our first payment off 14 days ahead of time, so we were good, the next month around 3 days before due date, we live in KY so three days shouldve been enough time with a 16 day grace period we were good, however
Option one saw the need to call on 2nd 5 times a day! Even though we hadnt used up our grace period days they continued to call and badger us, this has went on for 2 years, we mailed our payment same time every month, every month the same thing at our jobs, the whole nine yards, even though we told them it had been mailed. Last week we signed on our new mortgage fixed 6.25, oddly enough we recieved a letter from option one two days after closing and they were raising our interest rate to 12.125 based on the same index that gave us the interest rate of 6.25 with a different company, go figure! Option one currently owes me 1400.00 that I have in escrow and Ive kindly returned the favor of calling 5 times per day, (30 days to get my money) but Im going to call all day everyday until I recieve it, my only regret is that I dont have home numbers to wake them from their beds, disturb dinner and their sleeping children 15 times a day.

Best advice stay away from this company! If we hadnt been able to refinance we would have struggled to meet the mortgage eventually. This is the kind of company that forces people out of their homes! I plan on forwarding all my mortgage info to the attorney general for our state and the BBB, This is the kind of company the goverment needs to step in and shut down. If you are looking for a home loan BEWARE!
