Copeland Marketing - Jean Neal
Copeland Marketing And Jean Neal We were scammed, but didn't hear about the lawsuit, we would love these people to have to pay back everyone because they are crooks

Education & Science

We were contacted by a Jean Neal in Copeland Marketing in March who was high pressure in getting us to pay the $899.00 to have them sell our timeshare where they were going to sell what we bought for $3000 for 16,900.00. We were totally scammed. Jean Neal said she would handle everything and then later when we had got busy and didn't even send in a contract or hear anything and had seen that the 899.00 had come off our credit card, we started worrying.

We didn't even receive any contract verification till July by a Jade Schmidt. Then we called and the secretary was very nice in telling us they were gearing up for lots of vacationers and she knew someone was working on selling our timeshare, but that Jean was just an agent who got us to list with them.

Then it had been 5 months and they said we'd get a free 8 day 7 night vaca. So, I called and they sent out the vouchers of which were not free they had taxes, and deposits some were refundable while others weren't. Then on the 6th of Sept. I called them and had them lower our price to 9999.00 still under the impression they were trying to sell it, but we still had received no calls.By the end of 2006 my mom and I had just said "shame on us" for being scammed. But, we didn't think to check to see if anyone else was complaining, let alone whether there were any lawsuits.

Until lately when we were contacted by a Kevin Hanlin of Resales Buy Owner and I started researching so that we wouldn't be scammed again and found out he and his company are dirty also. And, in the meantime found out through the Florida State Attorney and Prosecuter offices that lawsuits had been filed against Copeland, but it was too late for me to get any refunds. This burns me because now I feel like the no - good, dirty Lunt Couple is laughing in the Caribbean (or wherever they're spending our money) with all the money they ran away with - God will have justice with them someday so, I hope they can't get comfortable anywhere again for all the deceiving they did.

I would like to see more class action suits against them because I don't feel like justice was done by the number of people still complaining about them. Word to the wise be very careful of Timeshare resale people I've been researching the industry and about the only reputable person I've found so far and because of being burnt I'm still skepticle is Wes at Resort Services International in Holly Hill Florida. He doesn't promise very much for your timeshare, but he'll at least try to sell it for you and sometimes with as dirty a scheme the timeshares are it's best to just unload them. My mom and I are deciding to just get out while we can so, we're not paying all these maintenance fees and assessment fees and then not even using our timeshare.

I also found out through Mario at the State Attorney's Office that the timeshare industry isn't even regulated by goverment and he said you should see the backgrounds of the people involved in the selling or promoting of timeshares. He said it's unbelievable at the criminal records you would see. Why is this that the government isn't putting a stop to the scamming of innocent people that work hard for their money and work hard to be able to take a vacation and then get ripped off by the stupid timeshare people. Please contact me if you have any help to offer.
Thanks!
