To good to be true offer of credit scam

Received an offer via snail mail for a 10,000 Platinum Credit Card. While this card is not affiliated with Visa/MC anyone that does not read the offer thoroughly can easily be misled.intentional? Perhaps. Nonetheless I read on, the offer is for a membership to purchase items from this companies catalogue of merchandise they offer.
I became suspicious as there is no credit check involved, very fishy! Before taking the trash to the shredder I decided to do some checking. Low and behold, I see all of this. Good thing! I was not about to send any company offering a big credit line minus a credit check any personal information of mine, nor any money. It's bad enough they have my name and address. I receive credit alerts via my banks credit monitoring service. I thought it was odd to have a pre-approval with not so much as a "soft-pull" of my report.
Needless to say, I believe this to be a fleecing of Americans, as the offer is misleading. The company has an unsatisfactory rating via the BBB. The web site does not appear to be "authentic". The contact info is not correct.
I sent their postage paid envelope back to them MINUS $37.00, and a few choice words. I suggest others' do the same.
