Lies in Education

The UOP lied when I enrolled. I asked to get an education in accounting so I could primarily do taxes for individuals and some small business taxes. I was told by my admissions counselor "I wanted to take business and accounting". I again asked if this course was based on taxes for individuals and small businesses. She assured me it was.

I went through all of my classes except the last three terms. I was carrying a 3.4 GPA and dropped out after getting one five week class for taxes and these classes were aimed at multi-million dollar corporations. We touched on taxes for the indiviual and when we did we rushed through it so fast it was impossible to learn anything about it, plus we did our assignments in a tax program that inserted numbers for us in various stages of the tax program.

I feel I was decieved and lied to and should not have to repay for the expensive education I recieved. I am not now nor will I ever become a tax accountant like I wanted. I am disabled and was working towards getting off of Disability with my new found education.

I have transfered to another school and like some of you other folks have found the UOP credit do not always transfer. What good is the education if your credits are not accepted at other schools?

Now the UOP is suing me for the classes I did not complete, I think I am going to file a counter suit and see if I can eliminate the need for repaying for an education that was not what I wanted to begin with.
