El gordo scam artists, rip off merchants madrid - spain

I receved a letter from EL GORDO Spanish Sweepstake Lottery S.A. Dated 17/08 From Dr. Mario Sanchez saying I had been awarded 615,810.00 euro's. To claim this money I would have to contact my agent, DON PEDRO GOMEZ of ATLANTICO GRUPO SECURITY COMPANY S. A on Tel: 00-34 647 289 636.

As I didn't have to send any money I thought it would be ok. I rang Don pedro, I had to fill in a form, with Bank details, next of kin details, and a copy of my driving licence, contact number and fax them to 00 34-911 817 354. He ring me told me I would have to pay 990 by moneygram to Glen Ema, 20 San Jose, Madrid, spain 28006. Followed by further payments of 1600 and 1300.

As i had been to Spain in 2006 i might have brought a lottery ticket then, but i thought if i had won any money i woldn't have to pay anything. Another call from Don pedro, saying money was for insurance to cover the payment to me.

I then had a call from someone at a bank saying if i did'nt make the payments i would'nt be able to claim my prize. I thought it strange and got on the internet to see if it might be a scam, only to find loads of others that have the same sort of letters.
