Am I Hearing Things Ripoff

I bought a pair of those "high quality" Parayme speakers used from a friend, and I hate to admit it, but I like the sound better than my JBL studio monitors (Model 4411,12" with titanium dome tweeter). The highs are not as harsh on the Paradymes. I hate those titanium dome tweeters. I must be really naive or stupid, esp. After reading about the "Paradigm/Paradyme scam. Anybodt got any advice as to a drop-in replacement for the horrible titaniums in the JBLs?
