Never have been a Sprint customer! These clowns pull this out of thin air! Ripoff

I go to apply for a car loan and find that these jerks, Cavalry Portfolio, have me as a deliquent account - the original creditor was Sprint PCS! I've NEVER been a Sprint customer - EVER! I call Sprint, they tell me to file a fraud packet, etc, say that the original account was opened in Jan 05!!! But they won't tell me anything else! They are as big a bunch of clowns as Cavalry!
What is the world coming to here? Are these bastards deliberately just MAKING UP these phony accounts in the hopes that you'll just pay them, no questions asked???
Has anyone made any headway or had their credit restored after fighting these pond-scum-suckers? I see from this list that I'm not the first! Any help will be greatly appreciated.
