Ripoff The shady and huge liar The Learning Annex' used my credit card information that I used to purchase a seminar and charged $39.99 for a service that I did not authorize

Received a telephone call from 1-801-371-0755 which is connected to The Learning Annex, the guy on the phone started a long spiel about programs and one year subscription, free refund..., which I didn't pay much attention to as I was waiting for a break so I can interrupt and hang up when I heard him say 'since I had already passed the 14 day free subscription and was being charged for the 1st month would I like to add on the discount'...

(1) He said they had called on 7/10/07 where I started my 14 day subscription. & I never received ANY calls from them that day or any other day and I had my phone records to prove it.

(2) When I started questioning the guy he started to sound nervous and I again brought up there were never any phone calls that day or any other day. He said they recorded all their calls and that in their 'records' they had called on 7/10/07 at 1:58: 22. I asked to hear the recording he stuttered out he didn't have the authority to do so and then HUNG UP on me real fast.

(3) Confused and angered I went on the internet and found their Customer Care Department # at https://www.mylearningannex.com/terms.html. There I told the representative, Bill what had just been said to me and asked them what was going on. He took a long time to get back to me (probably calling whoever was calling me before to get the info so their lies line up) and then said their 'records' show the 14 day trial i had somehow agreed to through my non-existent phone call. I pointed out I never received this phone call and I would be able to prove it simply by pulling my phone records and then I asked if I needed to bring my lawyer into this. He backtracked real fast saying that is just what our records show, but we're not calling you a liar. How can their records show something that never happened?

(4) Then they promised to refund the charge on my credit card. Took them another real long while before Bill got back on the phone with me saying they were going to transfer me to Tim Grubbs where he can help with the refund. After I finally connected to Tim he again too a long time checking the 'records' then finally saying it will take a while to backtrack the order and he will call back when it is done.
This happened a hour ago I really doubt he will call back so I've posted this as a warning to all people to not get ripped off by this shady lying company. Not to trust what they say about giving you a refund since reading other posts on this website doubt that will be coming anytime soon so definitely take it into your own hands legally and also remember to record their conversations with you on your own end.
