Financial Aid Rip Off

University of Phoenix is a Rip off. I was hounded by there enrollment counselors/sales people to come to the school... After repeated calls discussing financial aid and my ability to still recieve aid after attending a REAL institution for 3 years and moving to a new area and not having the same tax break as my children were no longer dependents (because of that the amount of financial aid I could recieve was lower) coupled with the fact that I was at my limit for financial aid (which I did not know or understand at the time that there was a cap) and could not recieve anymore. After the sales tactics of my enrollment advisor/sales person 100% assuring me that I would be able to get financial aid and I "should not let that stop me from attending because most UOP students start class before they get thier financial aid becuase it takes 6 weeks to process the applications, but I am 100% positive you will recieve aid so go ahead and start" so I started, went to 3 classes before getting a letter saying that I owed over $3,000 for classes because my financial aid was declined!!! Now - my not so good credit that i was trying to repair is once again up in the air and not to mention their collection agency called me the other day and said that they were going to garnish my check! I have legit student loans out there from the Govt that they are going to mess me up on... I can't repay those right now, let alone them garnishing my check. UOP is bunch of sales people trying to trick people into going to that expensive school, I don't care if they are accredited they are not a legit school. It is not like I can afford to go out and get a lawyer and fight this. I was in tears when I got off of the phone with them the other day. Also, I sent them countless emails to almost every "big wig" that I could find an email on at UOP and never got a response. They don't care about people, they just care about making a buck by telling lies and selling you a dream that they know wont come true.
