The College Prep Center
Michael Brock, Ripping off college bound students and parents LA Mesa

Education & Science

I recieved a call from the College Prep Center company telling me that my daughter had signed up for the SAT/ACT study program at her high school. Because I was not certain as to whether or not my daughter signed up for such a thing I questioned the person (Michael Brock).in a persuasive manner the man insisted that extra help his company could provide would beneficial. He even guaranteed it. This I found to be strange. I was then told if my daughter didn't use it or it did not help her that the material could be returned. He then stated the material would cost $119.00 and some odd cents. I then stated that I did not want to order the materials. He then stated there was a return guarnetee of 30 days. I told him I did not want the materials once more. He then stated that he would extend the return date to 60 days. I told him to check back with me the next week and made it clear I did not want to purchase this material. I did not order the materials. After returning from a Fastpitch turnament (May 25) I found two boxes from the College Prep Center, which I did not order.

On June 11 I called the company to return the materials, which were not opened. I spoke with a hostile young woman that tried to talk me out of wanting to send the materials back. She too wanted to extend the materials. I told her I did not want them. She informed me that I could not send the items back. I told her I had not ordered them. She then stated that she had two different credit card numbers with two different dates. The first date she claims I ordered on was May 3. I called my credit card companies there was a transaction made by The College Prep Center on May 6 and another on May 8. The mailing lablel dates read: May 9 and May 17. I did not get this material until May 25.

Futhermore they sent one of the materials to my daughter who does not have a credit card. I returned all merchandise. And reported all this information to my credit card companies. Another concern I have is where did they get my daughters information. She was only a junior in high school at the time. Futhermore Mr. Brock did give me a return number 143008 and so did some lady. Once again I did not order two of these materials and have been ripped off. I did not go over my time limit. I did try to return and was given return address numbers. The dates don't make sense. I want my cards credited and this company charged with violating minors privacy rights. Where did they get this list? No invoices came with the materials, this is odd.
