Poetry contest scam ripoff

Poetry.com is a rip-off. They are robbing millions of hopeful unsuspecting people blind on a daily basis. They promise publication, money, awards, even national recognization. But, only at a price. You are asked to pay for your publishing, your awards, & in order to receive their cash prizes you have to attend the International Society of Poets convention.
Be aware that the ISP is not a recognized group anywhere in the world. It is claimed only by poetry.com. Records of such a group were unavailable at the time I filed this report.
Anyone can publish a book. A 75 page book printed in up to 50 copies can cost you almost $200 or more. With the money they receive by many people hoping their dreams have come true, they can afford to pay the fee & publish anything. The copyrights are simply added as a fancy look for them.in no way is your work copyrighted by law. Nor does any ligitimate copyright hold in your name.
This is a huge fraud. A fraud upon fraud on numerous levels. Your work is at risk for thieves around the world & someone else can quite possibly profit from your loss. Do not post your poems on their website. You will be robbed of your work-it's garaunteed.
If you have already make certain you have a back up of each one you have posted in your possession. Have them notarized by a public official. This is easy to obtain, or you can pay a fee & have them protected by a personal copyright.
