Education & Science

Just a bit over a year ago I lost my career as a Chef because I was diagnosed with MS. I answered an ad that said it was looking for an office manager and all of you guys know the whole deal after that. The interesting thing about my situation is that little of the usual Cydcor phraseology was used at JNL (that was the Louisville office where I worked). If anyone had mentioned to me a day of "O" or used phrases like "juice" I would have been out a lot faster! I have to tell you though I looked forward to going to work in the morning and goofing off and playing games for the first hour because I always won and it was fun. I also worked with some genuinely fun people. It was working out in the field I could never quite get. I'm really not brainwashable. And I genuinely dislike Bellsouth which made it very difficult for me to swindle people - another issue for me - I didn't feel good about the fast talk selling and swindling - it was very dirty and I couldn't believe any company would approve of this sort of marketing.

I was 'invited' to go on a business trip to Atlanta. It was a horror. The hotel we were booked in was like the roach motel and 3 of us shared a room. We paid all expenses ourselves and were told to write them off on our taxes. Fine for me, I own a home and have a family, what about these kids that are fresh out of college and don't itemize or can't itemize because they don't meet the requirements.

As I stated before, I have MS which really zaps my energy at times. I started working at JNL at the beginning of DEC. The 'road trip' was Christmas week. I got home at 2 am Dec 24. Our office was closed the following week. Upon returning home I got so sick I could leave my bed for 9 days. I didn't receive a paycheck until after Jan. 1 and it was for less than 200 bucks. My fiance at the time was covering all of the home and holiday expenses. I never saw my kids or him. I went back to work for 2 days after the break but the damage was done. He left (after 5 years) and it took my health quite a while to fully recover back to 'normal'.
