Executive Concepts/global Expectations
Pyramid scheme, deceitful benefits

Education & Science

I was currently hired by Executive Concepts close to two months ago. There are several companies representing and following the same system and ALL are listed under different names. There is: Executive Concepts (Lafayette, LA), Global Expectations (Atlanta, GA), Netwoth International (New Orleans, LA), etc... Each company is identified under a different name so as to cover the manager's backs from being conected to the other offices. All of them, however, are contracted under CYDCOR, Bellsouth, Circuit City, and very soon WAL-Mart (UH-OH.).

The job itself consists of face to face marketing in stores that have a contracted agreement with Cydcor. (Sort of like tele-marketing, but in person.) All of the contracted workers are stationed in different stores across the area closest to the main office. There are many offices in the 9 lowest-east states of the US.

The company claims to not be about sales, but continuously pushes the employees to hit "the bell" everyday (6 applications of new or upgraded services or more.)

Most of the employees are hired through Monster.com for a "marketing management" position. It claims to provide salary, madical benefits and compensation for business trips to other offices to "learn more about the business."

Now, in reality, there is only ONE manager, no salary, but MINIMUM WAGE, 70-80 hours of work a week REQUIRED in order to get promoted with absolutely NO overtme pay, no medical benefits are even MENTIONED after the employment paperwork is signed, and the "comission" that the employees are supposed to make is never broken down to them.

A few employees and myself began to see suspicious behavior in some "leaders" that are employed with Executive Concepts and started asking questions. The behavior included: taking other employees apps, closed-door meetings with the manager where noone but leaders were allowed, adding and editing services on applications after the customers have left, and several people were "let go" for not having the "right attitude."

Not only do we see suspicious behavior in co-workers, but each and every office has no more than two desks, no filing cabinets, shredders GALORE, and one or two computers. Basically, if they wanted to escape from anyone, they could be gone with no trace in less than an hour.

When we asked the manager, who for better reasons will not be named, specific questions as to how the business works and how we were not making enough for what we had calculated in commission, his response was: "It is what it is."

Recently, a large group of individuals were hired and are training in the Lafayette area... So if you plan on entering any cingular store soon, beware of the At&t/Bellsouth reps. Not only will they quote you wrong prices, they will add services onto your bill without your censent. Do not sign anything you have not read completely and understand.
