"Co-Founder" Potential pyramid scheme, fraudulent, deceptive business opportunities And Rockville

I was recently approached (Oct) in a Frederick, MD Target store by a gentlemen named "Eric Trout." His approach has all the traits of a pyramid scheme tactic. He randomly started small talk by commenting on a sports team hat that I was wearing and gradually steered the conversation to gain information on what kind of work you are in, etc. Coincidentally enough, he happens to be in the same line of work and "just started" his own business and is looking for associates. Fortunately, I was able to see through this garbage scheme, but in effort to extract as much information from him as I could; I went along as if I was actually interested.

As the conversation neared an end, he asks for a phone number where he can call you. I offered him an email address, but he said he did not have access to email. I did take his business card which lists his company name as "OmniWeb Networks, an NSBSystems Partner" specializing in endorsements and promotion. Eric Trout is professionally listed as "co-founder" on the card. The toll-free number listed dials into an auto-attendant, but the call transfer option has since been disconnected. There is a bogus voice mail box attached to the toll-free number. His cell number listed on the card does reach this individual.

I did not care to investigate any further, but wanted to let other community members in the Frederick and Montgomery County Maryland to watch out for sketchy approaches by this individual.
