Almost hooked. Thanks complaint, you saved me. Dallas Texas

I was almost ready to sign up for startup essentials. I was contacted by Rocky Robinson. Whew, what a smooth talker he was. The first call took up almost two hours of my time in which he explained the contract, how it was a four year commitment and that I would recieve a "free" laptop.

The next day I had some questions lined up for him to answer and it seemed like he repeated exactly what he had said in the first phone call. Before I made the third and FINAL call i was lucky enough to find ripoff's reports on this particular company. I wrote down more questions to ask him.

Later that evening I called and inquired about this "free" laptop... Was i leasing it? This time he mentioned the lease. I also asked him if he knew who Mr. Devoto was and if he was aware of his criminal background. Rocky said he was aware of it but that this man had had a "life-changing" experience and really wanted to help people. BS.

The last thing I mentioned was the class action lawsuit that was being filed against start up essentials. He fisrt replied, "yea there probably is a lawsuit against us." the later he told me I needed to look up ripoff report on the better business bureau to check and see if it was legit and blah, blahg, blah.

BOTTOM LINE: when this company first contacted me I explained to Rocky that I was a mother of a four month old daughter, currently unemployed, had no bank account and was just trying to make ends meet. I can't believe this man would still try and make this sale to someone in my situation. Thanks complaint, you saved me.
