Fraudulent debit to bank account Ripoff

I discovered on Sept. 6, that a company by the name of Lean Rx debited my bank account in the amount of $79.95. The debit went through my account Sept. 5 and the description showed the so-called purchase was made Sept. 2.

It showed it was debited from my card and showed the correct number. Although it showed up as Lean Rx in Ontario, CA, the phone number was incomplete.

I immediately reported this to my bank, canceled my debit card, and filed a dispute. While waiting the 14 days for the investigation, I did my own search on the Internet and found the complaint site. It is here I found the phone number of Lean Rx along with many other reports with the same scenario as mine.

I called the phone number and of course got a recording. I did leave a message.

Concerned about how this company got my debit card number, I mentally tied it to ordering a "trial offer" of Hoodia - a weight loss product. This company had already ripped me off. I had provided my bank card info to pay the shipping fee on the trial offer. The later charged me $97 for a bottle of the product. When I called about it, they said it was in the terms and conditions that I had to purchase a minimum of one bottle in order to get the trial offer. When I went back and looked at their website, sure enough it was buried several paragraphs in the fine print. Regretfully, I did not report this to my bank and the product is still in my cabinet unopened as a reminder not to do such a thing again.

After reading reports on this site, my suspicions are confirmed that this most recent fraud to my bank account is tied to the Hoodia incident that occured several months ago.

I am still waiting for the bank to resolve this issue and get my money back. Thanks to this website for providing us a place to warn others and to share helpful information.
