Subsidiary of Perfume World ripoff

Thanks to usacomplaints.com and to Amy from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, I didn't take the job.

I to was conducting a job search and came across this ad for Data Entry Level Management.

Called and given an appointment to met with Kevin Mercado, went filled out the application form about myself, met with him and was asked how would i rate myself and why should i be hired, later would be notified for second interview.

Recieved call for 2nd interview for August 10
11:30am I arrived there had to sign in, along with another 15 people who were there for the same reason.

12:00pm We then entered this room with 20 patio chairs and Kevin gave us a briefing of what Felix A. Torres was going to talk about and when he walks in he would ask how are we all doin' we respond great.

12:15pm Felix walks in this room with just four walls, no furniture, and one wall with wipe off board, and started to chit chat about how long he has been in NJ, his sleepless night, and so.

He too gave the background of the Company, Prestige Management, and its founder, Larry Hahn. He is a self made Millionaire who started out in Atlanta and New York for a test marketing firm with no name. Larry Hahn apparently 30yrs ago before being rich, he was sleeping in his car in Jacksonville, FL and was collecting soda cans, beer cans, so that he can trade for money to feed himself, later he started collecting peoples pots and pans that were being thrown away and would clean them and started selling them, saw it was good and decided to open a small shop W.M. I (wholesale merchandise Industry) which by then he too started selling electronics, visions cookware, etc.

Felix started to explain to us about the chemical in the perfume, what it contained, pointed out how the perfumes contained Butane.

He explained about Mark Larecy, the chemist who invented the fragrance for OPIUM which YSL (yves st laurent) put their name on it and later was sued, in 1986, by Mark Larecy who finally won because perfume could not be patented, only the packaging.

He explained that because the perfume mix and ingredients in the bottle produced by them was the same as the ones produced by the name brands, but is know as a rendition, didn't mention how much it could be sold for.

He show us thier new Perfume that is coming out "Attitude", just show us the box, claiming it smelled good, but he didn't open the box to show us the bottle, or smell it.

He gave 3 reasons why to buy the products:
A. Spot Advertising
B. Packaging
C. Shipping/Handling

He explained how the perfume industry is huge, just last yr it perdicted sales of 4.8 billion. He also spoke about that they are only here in NJ for the past 3yrs for they started in Atlanta, and frenchise are all down south and now the goal is to go north and international.

He went on about how he got started 7yrs ago and now worth 1/2 million dollars, how he was trained for 16weeks, but he would train us in 8 wks breaking it down in 4 phases;
1. Basic (orientation, marketing, merchandising, work with distrubutors.
2. Training and evaluating
3. Management (training 6-8 people under your manager's supervision
4. Branch Manager (open own office)

While training we wouldn't be paid much, but guarateed to make 30,000$ annually at entry level the first yr and more.

He went on how he gets 10,000$ from Larry Hahn, the president, to open these office (which you end up running/owning) and to sign a contract that the first yr we give back to Felix and Kevin $30,000. Meaning if we make 60,000$ the first yr we take our 30 but give the other 1/2 to them. Yeah right!

He explained the benefits which is provided by Oxburn;

He explained what he was looking for in the interview;

At the end of the interview he selected the 8 people needed and gave us a screening sheet to fill out and to return the following day between 9am - 10:30am where we are to meet with Kevin who will ask us questions about what we learned. And to sign a contract Guaranted to pay us 30,000$ first yr. But if we exceed more we are to give them whatever is over 30,000$.

Well bottom line is thank god i refused this job after reading here. Thank you agian Amy and Rip-off for thinking of us consumers.
