An Italian Man ripoff sold me two jackets for 260, he said he needed money to get back home to Italy

I was approached in the parking lot by an Italian man about 5'9 white light skin, about 190-210 lbs, green eyes with a weird thing on his neck looked like a wart. He showed me his pass port, his rent a car (chrysler mini suv) receipts and said he needed money to get back to Italy because he had spent all his money. He looked like he was really in need, so I bought the jackets and later found this website with a person having the same problem... Please tell me what I can do, I really want to know.
