David Rose Robo Enterprises Rip Off

This is my first time on Rip-Off.

I've read with great interest some of the reports here on about Rick Underwood who had an association with David Rose, formerly of Robo Enterprises.

I don't know Rick Underwood, but I did know David Rose. Rose has left a trail of angry investors a mile long, from here to Australia and rightly so for what he did to them.

I am a retired Air Force Officer and invested $32500 dollars in the Spring of 2001 on a Well in Wyoming called Powder River Basin. I was asked to send in half of the money for drilling and testing at this time. For months I heard nothing, told me that there were considerable delays.

At one point I was told to send in the completion costs for the well, - that meant another 17000 dollars. When I told them the well had not even been tested yet - Rose and his worker bees told me that the well had been substitued for one in Lousiana known as the Garret Plantation well and they needed the completion money now.

I sensed somthing was wrong but sent the money in anyway - since at the time I was overwhelmed with my military duties.

To make a long story short - Rose and his bogus company, Robo Enterprises, filed bankruptcy later that year, changed the name of his company (like a shell game) to Sunclear Energy that was now headed by a new President, Randy Akers, and I never saw my money again.

To be completely honest, there was a tentative effort to drill the well by a company known as Camex enterprises, (It was not even Robo or Sunclear but a third party that ended up doing all the work) but the well was never completed.

Rose convieniently became invisable. His follow-on company, Sunclear, claimed - and the paperwork I have seems to prove it, that there was an assignment made from Rose and Robo to Sunclear for the ownership of my well at Garrett Plantation - the problem was that Rose never gave to Sunclear all the money he owed them to complete the well.By this time a Thomas Duddey of Bowling Green became the Trustee and many of the assets were frozen... At this point the money trail gets hazy - but there can be no doubt that Rose has some of it.

The *&*& of it was, was that much of the time I was serving overseas in the Military and my wife was sick for over 6 months during the time I was getting a rogering by David Rose. There was little I could do legally to persue Rose or my money.

When I tried to contact him repeatedly, my calls were never answered. I later learned that while I was wearing this countries Air Force uniform in a hostile enviornment, David Rose was living "lifestyles of the rich and famous" with my cash. His son drove a Nascar and Rose apparently had a huge mansion. As for my money, word was that he had the cash invested in his wifes name in an offshore account and the money - MY MONEY - $ 32500 worth of MY HARD EARNED CASH was gone forever.

I polled other investors like myself to see if they had the same problem. For obvious reasons neither Sunclear nor Robo was very eager to give me the names of other investors who had invested in the same well I had but through a little detective work I was able to find some of them. What did I find? Every single one of them had a story similar to mine and every single one of them thinks Rose is a criminal.

The amazing thing is that this guy has never faced justice, considering all the "Cease and desist orders" he has had and all the investors he bilked.

As for my money - it looks like it is gone forever and it is one of the biggest mistakes in my life that has caused both myself and my wife considerable pain. I would like to hear from other investors who have done business with Rose and whether there was a single succesful lawsuit brought against this con man.
