Gina Krogman
I have been scammed into signing a loan for a friend who has defaulted on the loan

Just over a year ago I received a desperate phone call from Gina Krogman (a supposed friend of mine) who begged me to help her out on a loan. Her pleas for help were enough to make anyone feel sympathetic. So I decided to co-sign for the $4,000.00 she requested. As we were waiting on approval I got a call from the bank stating that her name couldn't even be associated with the loan in any shape or form. This should have been a huge red-flag, but I have known her for almost 20 years and she has never given me reason before to not trust her. And she kept promising me that she had a job waiting for her and that she would pay it off quickly.

It wasn't long after I signed the loan that I got a call from the bank stating that she had called and requested a $4,000.00 increase on the loan - without even consulting me first. This was another huge red flag and I realized then that I made a terrible mistake. At first she did make some payments, but it didn't take long for the calls to come in from the bank saying that the payments were not being made. At first she made feable attempts to inform me that she was intending to continue paying on the loan, but after a while she eventually dissapeared all together. So now for the last 6 months I have been making the payments for her. As of today she owes me approximately $1,134.00 with $2,000.00 remaining on the loan.

Her phone has been disconnected and her address is unknown. The only way I can contact her is through e-mail, of which, she has not responded in months. The last time I spoke to her she was living with her sister, but I have no adresss for her either. All I know is that her sister's name is Jo. From what I have gathered, this is not a one time incident with Gina.in other words, I don't believe that I'm the only one she has done this to.

I do understand that it was stupid of me to sign a loan for a "friend", and I realize there is probably no legal recourse in this matter. My goal here is to simply put the word out for anyone who might come in contact with Gina Krogman (if that's her real name) and to beware of getting scammed by her.
