Misleading and deceptive. Scam artist ripoff, orange county

After being contacted by Directbuy for a VIP presentation at their Orange County office in Costa Mesa, we sat through a very scripted 45 minute presentation. At the end of the presentation, we were told that it would cost $5,500 to be part of this selected "Elite group" of consumers. We suspected that the examples used to show the savings were very carefully selected by them.

We were told that if we did not sign up that day, we were not able to sign up in the future. If we walked away, we would not be invited back. I couldnt understand why they wouldnt give us the opportunity to think about it and sign up at a later date. If they had nothing to hide and were honest with us, this should have not been a problem.

We reluctantly signed up with a down payment of $1,300 deposit with the intent to check the prices they had given us on items. The contract gave us a 3 business day period to cancel. I compared the same Kitchen Cabinets with Home Depot and Lowes. Directbuy was $11,000 more than Home Depot and LOwes.

On top of the price they quote they charge a 8% handling fee plus shipping plus sales tax. If you do your homework like we did, you will find out that they are not saving you anything. We cancelled our membership before the 3 day grace period.

If I could say anythihng it would be this: Why would you pay this company your $ be a broker for companies, that would gladly give you the same or better saving. Don't be scammed. They prey on those who do not know. Keep yourself informed. It is your money your giving away. Don't be taken.
